After many meetings, phone calls, emails, talks with “Committee Members” and visits to gyms trying to do the “right thing” I have realized that all of those things just draws out the process even more. Trying to include everyone in the decision process…just makes more process and communicating with everyone and trying to catch them to get their “input” just takes more time. Ultimately the call is on me and I have to make the decision and therefore I have.

Level 4 State Meet will be at Sundance Gymnastics on March 31st.
Level 5 State Meet will be at Golden Gymnastic on March 25th (Sunday)
Level 6 – 10 State Meet will be at 5280 on march 24th (Saturday)
Region 9 Championships will be held at the Air Force Academy on April 13-15th.

Of course if there are any athletes with religious concerns for the Level 5 State Meet, they will be allowed to compete on Saturday at 5280 as we have done before and their scores will be added to the meet on Sunday.

Click here to download two documents which will update everyone on the work being done for the 2013 to 2016 Age Group Competition Program. The two documents will provide you with valuable information with respect to the compulsory level routines and the proposed new optional Division I Technical Sequences.

These two documents represent a tremendous amount of work by both the Compulsory Committee and the Optional Rules Committee. I am excited about the direction and innovations being implemented in the age group program beginning in 2013. A new development program targeting recreational gymnastics, new compulsories aimed at fostering maximum participation, Technical Sequences designed to advance and refine our optional levels and new formatting for our Junior Olympic National Championships that includes more recognition opportunities, all point to a growing, vibrant and successful program for the future.

Please read the attached materials carefully so that you can familiarize yourself with both the direction and content of the program information provided. I believe you will be impressed by the amount of thought and effort that has gone into these draft documents.

Both committees are looking for your input and suggestions as they move toward the next step of refining the content in the age group program. It is important that the entire men’s community take a proactive approach to shaping the final look and content of our program. Please read the information carefully and please provide your feedback – in writing – as requested by both the Compulsory and the Optional rules committees. We are also asking that you provide your feedback by May 15.

Thank you for your time and your efforts with regard to shaping our future success!

For USA Gymnastics,

Dennis McIntyre

Men’s Program Director
